Cylite for Cogent · Lead Designer
One device. One scan. A complete clinical picture. Cylite’s HP-OCT captures true volumetric 3D images of the entire eye in a single motion-artefact-free snapshot. A single scan can generate multiple distinct exam types.
I designed the full software experience including a native Windows application for controlling the scanning device, and a web-based platform for exploring, analysing, and sharing the results. A design pattern language for exams, diagnostics, and admin tasks provided a unified experience across both applications. The platform entered real-world clinical use, with independent optometrists adopting the system internationally. Cylite was subsequently acquired by Alcon, one of the world's leading eyecare companies.Shifting device capabilities and medical review requirements meant the capture interface went through multiple fundamental redesigns.
