Designing the platform behind Australia's emerging environmental markets. As the sole designer, I designed a platform that generated over 700,000 tonnes of carbon abatement applications in a six-week pilot, securing government funding for an additional 6 months.
Australia’s farmland holds enormous potential for environmental restoration, but accessing carbon and biodiversity markets has historically required specialist knowledge or prohibitively expensive middle men. A collaboration between The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment and Australian National University, the National Stewardship Trading Platform was a single platform giving Australian landholders the tools to map their environmental assets, estimate project costs, and connect directly with buyers of nature repair outcomes.
